What is it about?
Bódvalenke is a 90% Roma village steeped in dire poverty located in a picturesque setting in the East of Hungary. The Fresco Village project aims at pulling the village out of its isolation and poverty by inviting Roma painters to paint murals on the walls and so create an exhibition of European Roma painting – and thereby attract tourists to create jobs and new venue for intercultultural dialogue.
