What is it about?
The idea of the Vorarlberg Financial Licence is to encourage and expand existing know-how in dealing with money among children and young people aged between 10 and 18. After attending several workshops given by experts for various age groups, the young people can acquire the financial licence. The aim is a debt-free, happy economic start to adult life and an autonomous financial life. The project has proved to be popular with many cooperation partners, some of which also offer workshops. Partners range from youth organisations and the Vorarlberg state authorities to banks. Since 2008, school teachers have been trained as multipliers so that they can give training modules in their own schools.
Appreciation of the Jury
The project publicises “freedom of consumption rather than compulsive shopping” and was awarded a prize of €1000 by the jury in 2007 for its “exemplary networking”.
