What is it about?
The “All in a Spin?” project, which is based in northern Austria, offers disabled people artistic and cultural space. The project started as a fashion show in 2006, when 23 artists presented creations that they had designed and made by themselves. Since then, the programme has been expanded to include music, dance and mime and has become a cultural event. Under the professional guidance of local artists, the disabled artists show their lives and works to the public. The ensuing encounters between average people and the disabled make a long-lasting impression and stimulate discussion.
Appreciation of the Jury
In 2008, the jury awarded a prize of €1000 to the “wonderful” project, which allows “people with special needs to become people with special abilities”.
