Family Village Program makes a state housing renovation subsidy available to rural, low-income families, which in practice typically only reaches households in a better financial situation. Its social innovation is a one-stop support model that accompanies families through the entire process with pre-financing, legal, social and technical assistance: it takes over the administration, ensures quality renovation, and uses complex mentoring to overcome the obstacles that would make the subsidy – and through it, decent housing – inaccessible to them on their own.
