What is it about?

The project, “Čhavore hin amaro bacht - Children are our future”, gives Roma children of pre-school and junior school age access to computers, educational games and creative free time activities. The project is supported by Roma assistants. The computer games that were developed specifically for the project help the children to learn Slovakian and, as a result, their ability to follow their classes at school is improved.

Appreciation of the Jury

In 2007, the “multi-facetted” project was awarded a prize of €1000 by the jury, which also remarked on its “potential for easy adaptation to other marginalised minority groups.”
